When He Knocks
It was an ere day to start out with. Although that did not matter because it is always eire in Detroit, Michigan. It truly did not matter the time of day, what season it was, or even what holiday it was. It was always just… ere and dark.
Kevin Marshall was walking with his head down in the cold drizzling light rain on his way to Detroit High School. While he was walking he would get odd stares from High school dropouts who were smoking and selling pot with one another. This gave Kevin motivation to do something great with his life and get out of this “city” they call Detroit. He wanted to become a nurse. Of course everyone had to make fun of him because being a nurse is looked as being a woman job. He did not care… He did not care at all.
Kevin arrived at Detroit High School on this glum Tuesday mother nature brought upon them. He had no need to go to his locker so he went up the stairs to science class. He was the first one in the class.
“Good morning Mr Neff” Said Kevin as if were a daily routine (which it was, none of the other kids would ever say hi to Mr Neff)
“Good morning to you to Mr. Marshall.” Said Mr. Neff without taking his eyes of his laptop.
Kevin takes his seat in the very back right of the class. As students started to fill in the worn out wooden and metal seats, Mr. Neff got everything ready for today's lesson. Kevin sat with a kid named Devin in the back of the classroom. They were the only two students in the back of the room, but that was fine by both of them. Devin wore all black just about everyday. He never talks to anybody or even smiles. He has six people in his family, and was accused of killing his family dog when he was six. On the dogs back, HWK was carved with a knife. On the dogs head was a stab wound in the middle of the dogs forehead. The HWK on the the dogs back standed for He Will Knock. Devin’s family later saw this in his journal. They did not know what this meant and were very frightened.
Now that all the students were in the class, Mr. Neff started his lesson.
“Alright class, today we will be starting a new unit on forces.” Mr. Neff said as he was pulling the projector screen down. The projector screen would not stay down. He was pulling it from the string with a metal ball on the end that was attached to the screen. He tried this five times and the class found it amusing. Mr. Neff then gave up and went to his desk to get some papers.
The metal ball at the end of the string was swinging back and forth hitting the white board. The ball kept on hitting the white board about 11 times. The class started laughing every time the ball hit.
“It’s starting…” Devin whispered under his breath.
No one paid attention to Devin.
The ball settled to a halt. Devin stood up with a wide grin on his face staring at the door in front of him. The ball started moving again knocking against the white board. No windows were open and no one was near the board.
“He is entering…” Devon’s smile faded.
“Is this some kind of game Devon!” Screamed Mr. Neff
“Yes, this is my little game” Devon said turning his frown upside down.
Mr. Neff then was floating in the air. Before he could get a word out Devin lifted up his hand and shot Mr. Neff through the window into the courtyard two stories below them. He was dead. The students in the classroom screamed in terror. Kevin, who was behind Devin grabbed a textbook and threw it at him. Devin was too quick. He caught it then threw it back at Kevin knocking him out. The lights went out and the class screamed even more. Six minutes went by with the lights out and the class heard nothing of Devin so they decided to make a plan. The lights flickered back on and Devin was gone. It was over. It was over until they looked down in the courtyard. There they saw five of the nineteen students lifeless bodies. When the students looked back to the classroom Devin was staring at them with blank white eyes.
Kevin woke up and decided to stay where he was to be safe. He did not say a word. The lights went out again, and students knew that something terrible was going to happen. Six minutes passed and then the lights flickered back on. This time there was ten lifeless bodies laying in the wet courtyard. There were four students left, one including Kevin in the corner of the classroom. Devin still has not noticed him. The three students on the opposite side of the door, Kevin, and Devin made a run for it. They made it about six steps before Devin used his supernatural force to throw them against the metal empty book shelf. They were knocked unconscious. Devin then threw the three knocked out students out to the courtyard also.
“Peaceful death if you ask me” Devin whispered to himself.
Devin had forgotten about Kevin who lay there expressionless. Kevin got up slowly trying not to get killed.
“Why are you like this.” Said Kevin with a trembling voice.
“I was called to by the God’s…” Devin said as he picked up Kevin with his force.
“No!!” Kevin screamed as he got shot out the window.
He, along with 20 other students lay dead in the wet cold courtyard of Detroit High School.

Devin woke up. Devin woke up from an amazing dream he had just dreamt of. He got out of his bed and hoped that the dream would go as good in real life, as it did in his dream…
